Hard News- 5 W's and 1 H
The inverted pyramid style places the most fundamental information in the lead paragraph of the story, and then arranges the remaining details, from most important to least important. It is a consolidation of 3 parts, "The Lead", "The Body" and "The Tail".
The lead contains the most important information about the set story, by ensuring the following questions are answered:-
1) What?
2) Who?
3) Where?
4) When?
5) Why?
6) How?
This golden rule is called 5 W's and 1H. Which I will be using to deliver the most vital information about the following articles.
ARTICLE-1
1) What- Kidnaping of a 14-year-old boy
2) Who- Kidnapers; Nagesh Y V and Duneel Kumar
3) Where - Manyata Residency, which is a gated community in the north of Bengaluru
4) When- On September 2nd at 4 am
5) Why- To extract ransom from the boy's wealthy father
6) How- They broke into his house through a door on the ground floor, kidnapped the boy by flashing a knife and drove off in the boy's father's SUV.
ARTICLE-2
1) What- Initiative to support hair pickers
2) Who- Hasiru Dala, an NGO that is working for the welfare of waste pickers
3) Where- Can contact Hasiru Dalal by mail
4) Why- They are barely surviving, as they don't find fallen hair easily and hence cannot sell it to industries that make wigs
5) When- The initiative is ongoing
6) How- By donating fallen hair to the hair pickers, instead of throwing them away or selling it to vendors

5) Why- Hired merely a week ago, Umadevi probably realised that Ganganna (87) was old, vulnerable and rich and that there wasn't anyone who could stop her as he lived alone
6) How- On September 21st, Umadevi walked away with 12 lakhs in gold and silver. she also stole 5 lakhs in cash
